Winter Scene - Hoping for Snow

Winter Scene - Hoping for Snow

This is my second attempt at creating a watercolor painting of a made up scene. I used only watercolor paint, no pencil or pen preliminary sketch. My real purpose here was to practice painting pine trees with snow on them, following suggestions in a video by Susan Chiang on YouTube. My trees didn’t come out as well as hers as my paint all flowed together, thus the bits of white paper that were supposed to show through between the branches just filled in with paint. Decided to then just try to create a hilly, snow-covered landscape. I used a Uniball white gel pen to add hint of snow on closer trees.
