More on Borders or No Borders When Sketching
Borders for my sketches - I wrote recently that I like borders around my sketches/paintings. If I know I’m going to add watercolor to an ink sketch I will usually add a border of artist tape, but if it’s just going to be a pencil/ink sketch or a thumbnail I’m happy with simply working within inked borders. Following someone’s suggestion (apologies for not remembering name), I plan to make a couple different grid templates from thin cardboard. In the meantime, I’ve done a couple grid layouts freehand.
