January Goal: Practice Using a Loose Sketching Style

In December I posted an article about the sketchers I follow because I like their loose sketching style. I have been trying to adopt that style myself, but because of other drawing commitments (house commissions) I haven’t really had time to dedicate myself to practice enough.

Working on My Lynchburg Landmarks Collection

Last August I posted a sketch/painting I’d done of two Lynchburg (VA) Main Street buildings on Facebook in a local Lynchburg group. I got comments asking if I sold my paintings or prints of them. I didn’t start this journey into art to sell the artwork I created so the inquiry was quite surprising.

I Love My Pocket Palette from Expeditionary Arts!

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I ordered the business card size Pocket Palette from Expeditionary Arts after seeing it at a workshop in Richmond, VA. But I didn’t just get the Pocket Palette, I ordered it as part of owner Maria Cornell-Martin’s Art Toolkit.
