Video Has Consumed Me. Still Room for Blogging?
I have let my blogging slide. In the past four months my creative attention has been on working with video and my dedication to writing blog posts wained. I’m now trying to find a balance. Though even how I now consume content myself has tipped the scales on the side of video, I know that’s not true for everyone. So I plan to make a renewed effort at keeping up my blog.
Vlogging, or blogging with video, is becoming more and more popular. Some even are able to keep it up on a daily basis! I don’t know how they do it. One of the four video series I have on my YouTube channel is called “Video Updates.” (http://www.youtube.com/billbooz) I originally created it to share what I was learning about making videos. I share what works for me and what doesn’t though the series has morphed into something more. I also discuss equipment, software, and video trends now. In addition, I’m now trying to do two shows a week, one on Tuesday and one on Friday. So, it has kind of turned into a Vlog of sorts.
In preparation for each episode of Video Updates, I make a list of what I want to cover. It’s kind of like a script but I try not to read it. To revive my blog I plan to use these “scripts” and turn them into posts. Though I don’t plan to turn my blog into a video topic only one, that is currently my obsession. I still love all aspects of photography and continue to pursue improving my own photographic skills so the bog will still have posts on non-video subjects as well.
I hope you will check in on my blog - or better yet, subscribe to it! - now and then and if you have questions or comments, as always, the best way is to leave them on my Facebook account (http://www.facebook/billbooz), Google+ account (http://plus.google.com/+billbooz), Twitter account (@billbooz), or e-mail me via the “Contact” page on this web site.
