24-200mm Focal Length Range is Handy

I recently wrote about being able to carry three lenses with my tiny Panasonic GM-5 camera in a nice, small bag. One lens is always on the GM-5 and that is usually my Olympus 25mm prime lens. The other two, then, are the Panasonic 35-100mm, f/4-5.6 and The Panasonic 12-32mm, f/3.5-5.6 zoom lens.

Using the Panasonic GM-5: A Whole Kit in a Small Bag!

I’ve brought my trusty little Mountainsmith bag out of the closet to see how it would work with my new Panasonic GM-5 camera. Perfect! But wait! There’s room left over!

This great little bag will hold the camera with its 12-32mm lens, my Panasonic 35-100mm, f/4-5.6 and Olympus 25mm lenses wrapped together in a small Domke Wrap, the cordless battery charger, two additional batteries, and my Olympus 15mm, f/8 body cap lens(BCL) Using a carbine clip, I can even attach my Patagonia Houdini rain coat to the bag!

My New Panasonic GM-5 Packs A Lot in a Very Small Package

Last year I decided I wanted a smaller interchangeable lens camera to use as a "take everywhere" second camera to my Olympus OM-D E-M1. The E-M1 is a fairly small package compared to my former Canon 60D, but it's still not so small that I take it with me everywhere. It's certainly not pocketable in normal coat/jacket pockets or slacks/shorts pockets. And that was what I was hoping to get, a pocketable camera that still would work with all my micro four thirds lenses. I had heard about the recently announced Panasonic GM-5 (released late fall 2014) that is a micro4/3 format camera.
