Wandering the Streets Series

Over the past year to 18 months I have found that I do enjoy shooting what I see when walking around new and familiar cities. “Street Shooting” is not a genre of photography I ever thought I’d be interested in pursuing, but I was wrong! Starting on my own maybe two years ago, I experimented with photographing people surreptitiously while my wife was shopping. When I went to my first Out of Chicago Photo Conference in June 2015, I went on several photowalks specifically to get a feel for what folks got out of street photography.

Time to Clean Out My Lens & Bag Collections

Why keep equipment you're not using? Right? Thinking about buying something new always makes me consider what I have that I can sell to help pay for a new purchase. In fact, almost one-third of all the images I have from the trip I shot using my iPhone 7 Plus. And many of them were shot using either the HDR mode in the default camera app or the TrueHDR app.

Germany: Did I Bring the Right Stuff?

I returned Tuesday from my two-week trip in Germany and am now reflecting on how I used the assorted camera equipment I took with me. Once again my Vanquest SKITCH-12 bag served as my transport bag to get all of my equipment on the plane and to Germany. Once there and at my first overnight location, I took the Lowepro Streamline 250 out of my checked bag...

The Reality of My "Just in Case" Approach

It's day #10 of my two-week trip in southern Germany and I'm assessing what I brought with me with regards to camera equipment. As usual for me, I have used my Olympus OM-D E-M1 with the 12-40mm, f/2.8 lens for almost all of my shooting
