Progress with My Illustrated Journal

Progress with My Illustrated Journal

We spent last week in Alexandria, VA, watching our youngest grandchildren. It was a great chance to try using my homemade sketchbook with Fabriano Studio paper. I took it with me everywhere and did succeed in sketching frequently along with making some brief notes.

I primarily used my Lamy Safari to sketch, but I didn’t paint any of my sketches. This experiment was meant to be a dry run for our trip to Italy this summer. During the time our family will be near Lucca, I do hope to not only sketch a lot every day but also paint the sketches with watercolor, as well as take lots of pictures. To that end, I also need to test out my use of my Tenba Cooper Slim 13 camera bag as my traveling art bag.
